The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.

Really liked the raw style with very well-crafted melodies, the raspy vocals and every bit of the gloomy atmosphere, reminiscent of Rimruna, Krael and Dauþuz, to cite a few raw BM German bands I also like a lot. This one is a 4-track EP remaining under half-an-hour of punchy rawness sachavonkarl74

Another Teutonic gem I just discovered, "Totenwache" (is it a dead guard?) as I would translate it from German "Totenwache", is a black metal outfit hailing from Hamburg. This album is a fine and well-crafted mix of the right amount of melodies and roughness, distilled to perfection. At first they may sound almost generic, but after a few listens all the technical prowess and multi-layered complexity surfaces to delight us. Highly recommended! sachavonkarl74
Russian duo leaven unbridled, blackened instrumentation with radiant melodies, their post-metal heaviness propelled by heavenly energy. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 25, 2024

Late 90's BM worship, but it's also a lil more than that. This album takes the best elements from the scene it's inspired by and mostly avoids the worst of it; the song-writing is well-written, it's performed with passion and fun, and the production is raw but isn't lo-fi. (i.e. it doesn't obfuscate and/or suckass).
Tl;dr It's safe but high quality BM. Recommended. Rabbit
